Adding Resilience with Mirror Work

Our nervous systems learn to orient in safety by taking cues from the environment around us, including sounds, sights, smells, and the body language / facial expressions and vocal tone of others.


As far as we know, our brains can’t actually tell the difference between another face and our own face when it comes to this mirroring / orienting work.


This is incredible news, because we can use our own body language / facial expression / vocal tones to influence our nervous systems and introduce more resilience.

Try looking kindly into the mirror and saying these statements with as much warmth, affection and compassion as you can. Practice saying one of these at least twice per day if you can.
